ADELAIDE mining company Exact Mining Services has sold their share of Northern Project Contracting to their joint venture partner, Waanyi Mining Services.
Exact Mining entered into the joint venture agreement with Waanyi Mining in 2004 to bid for a crushing contract at the Zinifex Century mine. Since winning the initial crushing contract, Northern Project Contracting has grown to include a labor hire company, and machinery hire service.
Exact Mining director Greg Rhodes will stay on as a director of Northern Project Contracting.
Fellow NPC Director Bradley Foster said the handover of the Exact Mining share of the business was a great step forward for NPC and Waanyi Mining Services.
“We are grateful for the contribution that Exact Mining has made to the growth of the company —we really needed their expertise and their resources in the early stages of the contracts to make this work,” Mr Foster said.
“The company has expanded over the past four years and we’re now able to operate the contracts on our own, and we’re looking forward to a period of great growth in the coming years.”
Mr Foster said there would be no significant changes to the staffing and the structure of the company.
Fellow NPC director Derek Flucker presented Mr Rhodes with a plaque commemorating the end of the joint venture partnership in Brisbane last week.
